Robin Gibb’s Battle With Cancer Sadly Comes To An End, As He Dies Aged 62

The Bee Gee’s legend Robin Gibb has sadly died after his lengthy battle with cancer.
The well-loved singer was aged 62 years old when his battle with colon and liver cancer finally came to an end, after having made what was described as a ‘spectacular’ recovery from a coma only a month ago.
The star’s death was confirmed by his deeply saddened family a few days ago when the following statement was released to the public:
‘The family of Robin Gibb, of the Bee Gees, announce with great sadness that Robin passed away today following his long battle with cancer…’
Robin Gibb’s spectacular music career began in the 50’s, when he and his brothers formed the band The Bee Gees. The group went on to enjoy huge success together that spanned over six incredible decades. Having enjoyed record sales of over 200 million, the group were best known for their big hits such as ‘Stayin’ Alive’, ‘Night Fever’, ‘How Deep Is Your Love’ and ‘I’ve Gotta Get A Message To You’.
Before he passed away, Robin had been working on a classical concept album ‘The Requeim for Titanic’ with his son Robin-John, in honour of the 100th anniversary of the nautical disaster. However, he was too ill to attend the premiere of his work.
Since his passing, numerous artists have come forward to express their sadness at the star’s death and to pay tribute to the influence that the star’s music had on them. Liam Gallagher, Bruno Mars, The Cribs and Duran Duran were among the many to pay their respects to Robin and show their appreciation for the impact that The Bee Gees had on the music industry throughout their long reign.
