After a successful first series, Jessie J is to return to series 2 of The Voice. Jessie confirmed the great news that she will be returning to the BBC talent show. Tweeting, Jessie said “The Voice UK Series 2… Are you ready? I AM ”
Ever since the 1st series came to a close, there were rumours circulating that Jessie J would not be re-joining the panel. However, since her 2nd tweet pretty
much confirmed her presence in the upcoming series,
saying “I WILL be a coach on the 2nd series of The Voice UK!” we have been jumping for joy.
Her following tweet stated “I’m BACK! As I have always said. Unless you hear it from me – Don’t always believe what you read! Can’t wait!”
In the first series, mentors Jessie J, Will.I.Am, Danny O’Donoghue and Tom Jones had to face away from contestants whilst listening to them perform. If they decided they wanted to represent that particular contestant they would then spin round in their chair to face them.
The second series, which is due to run in 2013, is yet to confirm the subsequent mentors and whether all three of the originals will return. Jessie J is the first mentor to announce her return to the 2nd series, so we will just have to wait and see who the others may be.
The series received brilliant reviews as well as many thousands of viewers throughout, however ratings dipped towards the end of the competition – this may be because the show went head to head with ITV’s talent show ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.
