Cheryl Cole who is currently visiting the war zone in Afghanistan as part of the Pride of Britain Awards, blew up a dummy of Simon Cowell, organised by army explosive experts as a humorous stunt.
Before hitting the detonator, Cheryl – who was sacked from the USA X Factor by Mr Cowell – joked “His head needed to be a lot bigger and the trousers could have done with being a lot higher.”
After this stunt took place, the Fight For This Love singer observed whilst troops demolished home-made bombs detained from the Taliban, whilst shaking her head in disbelief.
The Girls Aloud stunner stated: “I was astonished at the way they put their lives on their line. They are literally lying in the dirt using their hands to feel for bombs. They really are the bravest of the brave.”
Task Force Helmand spokesman Lt Col Tim Purbrick told The Mirror: “Cheryl has been fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble for her. It feels like she has met practically everyone on the base.”
During Cheryl’s time at Camp Bastion, she has taken part in a simulated gun battle and was even photographed grasping a SA80 rifle.
